Precision Nutrition New York Study
Scientists have reported that dietary fiber sources such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains improve your health and decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Studies conflict on which sources of dietary fiber are the most effective at decreasing disease risk. We think that it may partly depend on the bacteria in your gut. The Precision Nutrition New York study (PNNY) focuses on the way different types of fiber impact the composition of the gut microbiome for different individuals. We analyze this by comparing the impact of incorporating whole grains versus fruits and vegetables as sources of fiber into one’s diet.
